Today, I overheard someone say to my friend that vegetarians are obnoxious because they say meat is disgusting and "all that stuff". My friend, being a socially-awkward vegetarian himself, didn't say anything.

But I was really conflicted about this. I don't eat meat. I don't like how it feels. Or smells. Or tastes. Or looks. I don't like people talking about something I don't, or can't, for that matter, eat.

People who eat meat tend to be intolerant of vegetarians, from my experience. They talk about eating bacon and fried chicken, fast food meat of any kind, and expect us to just sit there listening? They can bash vegetables, but we can't bash meat? It's like bragging about eating Reese's candy in front of someone who's allergic to peanut butter.

The only difference is that they don't seem to even care that it annoys us and makes us feel terrible.
